Network........?

Hey I am running windows xp pro on every machine, now i'm wondering now i've made a network up.... How can I acsess my account on every computer, so I have the same login on every comp and files.....ect.

Network........?
I think what you're looking for is something like a domain logon, in which everyone has an account, and anyone can logon to any machine across the network, and have access to all their drives and files.

If this is the case, you'll need a copy of Windows Server (NT, 2000, 2003), and configure it for domain access. The server will need to be a dedicated machine. Such a machine usually stays on all the time, since servers generally don't shut down. All settings for the users are stored on that server.

Reply:No need to set up a server - use Remote Desktop Connection (already in Win XP) Report It

Reply:Install a windows server and create a roaming profile.

or

Install a linux server running samba and use that for the roaming profile
Reply:On a home network like this (peer to peer) you would have to create an account on every machine. You would also have to share the files that you want available on each machine. Another way to do it would be to have a server running some type of server operating system and store the files on it. Then join all your machines to the server's domain and create a server account that you could use to log in to any machine on the network and access the server files. Hope that helps.
Reply:You will need to create an account on every computer with the same name and password. You also need to get a hub, switch or router (I go with the router).
