Something about wireless network?

im using WEP encryption for my wireless adsl+router at my desktop pc at home...my internet connection is fine and working well...my problem is about the network password..i also have a laptop with wireless capabilities...when i open to "view available wireless networks"..i try to connect to my router at my desktop...then im asked to insert the network key (because i use WEP encryption earlier)...for example my WEP is "abcde12345"..so i type it in and i can connect to the internet by my laptop...the next time i tried to connect to my desktop pc router the window that asked me to insert the network key pop up again which is normal because i set up WEP encryption but this time i dont have to type the network key...the network key is already typed down...its like it remembers the network key i inserted earlier...how can i turn this function of so that if my friends are using my laptop, they cant simply connect without typing down the network key??its for my protection..

Well...

Navigate your way to the window where it days ''choose a wireless network''. On the left hand side there will be an option saying '' Change the order of prefered networks''.

Click on that and there will be a box that has one or two wireless network names in it. Click once on the one that is your regular wireless network. Then below that click on ''properties''. Go to the the ''association'' tab and type in a totally incorrect network key. Then press ok. That way you'll have to re-type your key in every time that you want to connect.
Reply:I have never personally had that problem. I like my internet being hooked up at all times.

I suggest you make a new account on your computer, just for guests. But put the internet explorer in the recycle bin along with anything else to do with the internet.

That will solve your problem. Just make sure they do not have your password.
