Home wireless network?

Our main computer cannot find the network on "view available networks". I have enabled the windows zero configuration service, and added the network to the "Preferred networks" list (typed in the SSID and WEP key); however, it still cannot seem to find the network. We have three laptops that pick up the network automatically. What can I do to make the home PC find the network?

Home wireless network?
Are we talking about the wireless network to surf the web? Or the network to be able to share files between one computer and another? If its sharing of the files make sure your computer is in the same workgroup as the rest of them. Right click on 'my computer' select properties, then select the 'computer name' tab then click on 'change name' Change the workgroup name to the proper workgroup name same as the rest! If this was the question. Good Luck!!
Reply:is the ssid hidden and the card on your main computer got a type of card who cannot handle that?

In that case disable hidden ssid.
Reply:Perhaps the desktop simply isn't receiving the signal, be it out of range of suffering some sort of interference.

Try placing the wireless router closer to the desktop and see if that results in it detecting the network.
